Vision & Goals
The overall goal of Children in Need is to break the cycle of poverty of needy children, particularly orphans, in Africa by creating in them the will to transform their situation from one of hopelessness and bondage to one of fullness and freedom, where the children can grow up with a chance to succeed in life. Although we are currently operating in the Worcester area of South Africa, our goal is to expand to all African nations.
Our goal for any given community that we work with is to reach the families by reaching the children. We need to meet the immediate needs of the children, the three most pressing necessities being food, clothing, and shelter - yet although this is good and helpful, it does not permanently change the children’s situation. Our goal in doing this is to build trust and relationships with them, so that they would be more open and responsive to education on how to build a better community for themselves. Children in Need also wants to provide educational opportunities for children to discover their inherent worth as a human being created by God, and the skills and talents they have which they can use to change the world they live in. Part of helping the children to realize their worth as children of the King is bringing them the Gospel through worship, showing them that we all have something to bring to God. Through these things, these children will begin closing the gap in the circle of poverty for their community for the next generation.
